Red Funnel Easter Regatta: 10-12 April 2009
Early in the racing season, this popular regatta runs over the Bank Holiday weekend and is an ideal opportunity to tune up boats and crews.
RIBEX: 8-10 May 2009
RIBEX is the world’s only boat show dedicated solely to Rigid Inflatable Boats. The event represents a unique opportunity to target a highly concentrated audience of open boat mariners both private and professional. The show’s mission is to promote the awareness and use of RIBs in all sectors of the marine industry and to stage a true show in every sense of the word.
Vice Admirals Cup: 29-31 May 2009
Organised by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, the Vice Admiral's Cup offers an antidote to the high pressure and complexity of modern regattas - racing is run on a level-rating, first past the post basis and is complemented with laid back social events.

Round the Island Race: 20 June 2009
The annual JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club, is one of the most popular fixtures on the Solent racing calendar. Starting on the famous Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes, competitors race westabout following the 50 mile course round the Isle of Wight.
Swan European Regatta: 11-17 July 2009
This regatta has been hosted by the prestigious Royal Yacht Squadron since 1995 and offers a week of competitive sailing in the challenging waters of the Solent.
Quarter Ton Cup: 16-18 July 2009
This regatta was resurrected in 2005 and proved to be such a popular event that it's now in its 4th year. Open to all old IOR Quarter Tonners, but now run under IRC, the event is hosted by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club.
British Classic Yacht Club Regatta: 19-25 July 2009
A popular regatta for the British Classic Yacht Club which was formed to bring together owners and enthusiasts and promote the ownership and enjoyment of restored and replica classic yachts throughout the UK and across the world.
Cowes Week & Fastnet Race: 1-8 August 2009
Cowes Week is one of the most famous sailing regattas in the world and is organised by the Cowes Combined Clubs. The event attracts crews of all ages and abilities and the Solent is a great test of sailing skills. The week is supported by a busy day and nightlife programme with shops, live entertainment, food, bars and a spectacular fireworks display on the last Friday night. The Fastnet Race (organised by the RORC) also takes place in 2009 and starts on Sunday 9 August.
Beneteau Cup: Beneteau Cup: 21-23 Augsut 2009 (tbc)
The Beneteau Cup is the largest regatta for Beneteau owners in the UK, run in the past by Ancasta, more recently by Britannia Corporate Events. Nearly 100 yachts compete at every level, from the family fun of a treasure hunt to the cut and thrust of the Class A IRC fleet racing. The regatta has a full programme of racing, combined with a superb programme of entertainment.
Little Britain Challenge Cup: 10-13 September 2009
This annual regatta is organised by and for the construction industry and is the largest corporate regatta in Europe. Whilst the Little Britain provides an action packed racing and social calendar over 3 days, it also raises funds for its chosen charities and in 2007 over £160,000 was donated to 9 local and national charities.
Rolex Commodores' Cup: 2010 dates to be confirmed
Biennial, international team event organised by The Royal Ocean Racing Club, together with Rolex, that was first held in 1992. A tough mix of inshore and offshore races compacted into a challenging 7-day racing schedule on the testing waters in and around the Solent. IRC (Endorsed) handicap system with three rating bands.
